GRIP LARGE Aerosol Number Density Readme File Langley Aerosol Research Group Bruce Anderson, Gao Chen, Lee Thornhill, Andreas Beyersdorf, Luke Ziemba and Eddie Winstead MS 483, NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton VA Data Contact Person: Lee Thornhill, kenneth.l.thornhill@nasa.gov Time resolution = 30 seconds Last Revision = September 2010 Variables: Time seconds UTC seconds (from REVEAL feed) Day of Year from REVEAL feed Altitude ft from REVEAL feed Ambient Pressure mb Static Air Pressure (from REVEAL feed) Ambient Temp K Static Air Temperature (from REVEAL feed) Total CNC #/cm3 Number Concentration from the CNC-3025 (>3 nm) Cold CN #/cm3 Total CN from the CNC-3010 (>10 nm) Hot CN #/cm3 Volatile CN from the CNC-3010 (>10 nm) Data Flags -999.0 = Data Missing Notes 1. All aerosol number densities were corrected to ambient temperature and pressure. To obtain values that are representative of sea level conditions, multiply the densities by (1013/Ambient Pressure)*((ambient temperature+273)/293) 2. The 50% cut-size diameters of the TSI3025 and TSI3010 CN counters are 3 and 10 nm, respectively. Therefore, the "Ultrafine" CN number densities are representative of the concentration of particles that are between 3 and 10 nm in size.
