HIRAD data are provided for flights over Earl (late 1 - early 2 Sept 2010) and Karl (16 Sept 2010).


V0 data available for this first release contains the brightness temperature (Tb) at 5 GHz.   Rain rate and wind speed 
were added to this dataset in May 2013.   V1 brightness temperatures were released in December 2015; however, rain 
rates and wind speed will still need to be retrieved from the V0 data.

V0 data are in Matlab (*.mat) and netcdf (*.nc) formats.

V0 data are organized into directories for each flight, and then by data files and image files.  
Additionally, there is a directory "filtered" in which is placed images and data after each swath (leg) 
is treated with a cross-track filter to remove artifacts that are present due to unresolved instrument 
calibration issues.  The filter is described in the enclosed Matlab script ("read_plot_filterTB_HIRAD.m"), 
which can be viewed as a simple text file to infer the filtering technique, even if the user does not 
have Matlab.
