Global Hydrology Resource Center Distributed Active Archive Center (GHRC DAAC) Manager Dr. Rahul Ramachandran was a guest editor for the current edition of Earth Science Informatics, a special issue on Intelligent GIServices (Geographical Information Services). GHRC data management group member Kaylin Bugbee was co-author of a paper in this issue, which describes the concept of intelligent GIServices, followed by a review of the state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies relevant to intelligent GIServices including capabilities such as knowledge representation, semantic reasoning, automatic workflow composition, and quality and traceability.
