Convective Processes Experiment - Cabo Verde (CPEX-CV)

The Weather and Atmospheric Dynamics Program executed NASA's Convective Processes Experiment (CPEX-CV) airborne field campaign on the NASA DC-8 based out of Cabo Verde during September 2022. The goals of this airborne mission were to collect data to enable further study of tropical convection and associated processes affecting tropical North Atlantic dynamics as well as calibration and validation of ESA’s Aeolus, depending on the operational status of the sensor.

The airborne campaign addressed new and refined science goals, many similar to those originally proposed for CPEX-AW, but extended into new areas of inquiry.
