GHRC Attends AGU Fall 2018 Meeting in Washington, D.C.

Leigh Sinclair and Ajinkya Kulkarni from the NASA Global Hydrology Resource Center (GHRC) DAAC attended the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting in Washington, D.C. where four posters were presented. Leigh conducted a lightning talk at the NASA Hyperwall titled “Application of ISS Lightning Data to Improve Hazardous Weather Preparation”, as well as chaired an oral session. Ajinkya conducted an oral presentation titled “Challenges Deploying Legacy Software in the Cloud”.

AMSU/MSU V6 Publication and AMSU/MSU V5 Retirement

The NASA Global Hydrology Resource Center (GHRC) DAAC published the AMSU/MSU Day/Month Temperature Anomalies and Annual Cycle V6 datasets. These datasets consist of temperature anomalies and annual cycle temperatures derived from the Microwave Sounding Unit (MSU) and the Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit-A (AMSU-A) radiance data since January 1978. All products are derived for four bulk layers of the atmosphere: the lower stratosphere, tropopause, mid-troposphere, and lower troposphere. The datasets begin on January 1, 1978, and are still currently ongoing.

Retired Datasets

Some datasets that were previously published are occasionally replaced by a more recent version, or retired due to a request by the data provider. In every case, the dataset information is still available for user access on a permanent landing page. The Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for the dataset remains indefinitely and resolves to that landing page with access to original information such as user guides and dataset documentation. In the case of dataset replacement, links to newer versions are available.
