GHRC personnel and LIS science tem meet with POIC to discuss ISS LIS data flow
GHRC personnel and members of the science team for the Lightning Imaging Sensor (LIS) met with the Payload Operations Integration Center (POIC) at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center on June 25. A second LIS instrument, sister to the LIS on the recently ended Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) satellite, will be to be deployed to the International Space Station (ISS) in early 2016. The POIC is the primary NASA ground system responsible for integrated operational payload flight control and planning for the ISS.
