Mission Description:
Fly to the Everglades to investigate thunderstorms.

Mission Objective:
Fly the Altus to forecasted areas in the Everglades likely to form thunderstorms and stay within proximity of the storm to collect scientific data.

Mission Summary:
Shortly after take-off, the red line limit on the flight payload data system housing box (FPDSHB) pressure was reached and the payload was turned off and the plane returned to base. The pressure was relieved in the FPDSHB and return to flight was planned, but was prevented by thunderstorms near the airfield. The mission was scrubbed at 1644 UTC. Good calibration data was obtained for the field mills. The aircraft was in the air for 54 minutes and flew up to 17,000 feet.

Instruments/Aircraft/Ground Assets:
Procedural corrections were made for the aircraft navigational data ingestion for the weather displays.
The internet link to the ground control station showed some amount of attenuation when raining.
