During the 2017 CPEX mission, the DC-8 was configured to support the following science instruments:

- High Altitude MMIC Sounding Radiometer (HAMSR)
- Microwave Atmospheric Sounder for Cubesat (MASC)
- Microwave Temperature & Humidity Profiler (MTHP)
- Yankee Environmental Systems (YES) Dropsondes
