Observed Hurricane Karl just after landfall in Mexico. Made one butterfly pattern across the center of circulation, then made several circuits of the eye at a radius of 9 to 18 miles. During the transit back to Ft. Lauderdale, surveyed several non-precipitating clouds at various levels. Kelly Neubecker of FAA Airspace and Rules participated on the flight to observe lidar operations and other aspects of the mission. |
