Mission science summary for September 23, 2010

IFEX
The G-IV is tasked for a mission around PGI46L/TD15 on September 24 with a take-off from Tampa at 1730UTC.  The flight will return to Tampa.  Possible P-3 flights into PGI46L/TD15 could begin by Saturday, September 24 at the earliest, but that is dependent on the projected track of the system, its proximity to Tampa, and the likelihood it will track into the northwest Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico.  A P-3 mission is planned for Friday to survey the ocean environment in the southeastern Gulf of Mexico and northwestern Caribbean in case PGI46L/TD15 does track there.  Take-off time for that mission is 14Z.
