Mission science summary for September 24, 2010

IFEX
NOAA42 is currently conducting a mission to survey the ocean environment in the southeastern Gulf of Mexico and northwestern Caribbean. No follow-on missions are currently planned for the next 24-48 h, but developments in the NW Caribbean are being watched in case a tropical cyclone develops or Matthew re-emerges and re-intensifies. The G-IV is returning to Tampa after receiving some repairs. No missions are currently planned for the G-IV in the next 24-48 h.

GRIP

The GH completed a mission into and around TS Matthew on September 24. No missions are currently planned for the next 48 h.

WB-57 has no plans to fly in the next 48 h, but may deploy to Tampa for possible missions into TS Matthew on Monday.

PREDICT
The G-V has no missions planned for Saturday. There is a mission in the NW Caribbean that is possible on Sunday.

AIR FORCE
The Air Force has no missions planned.
