ER-2 mission over CO/CSU-CHILL scrubbed. Moisture around low eroded significantly from 0700 to 1100 UTC. Models over-forecasted persistence of moisture around low over-night. Based on radar and satellite, in discussions with Steve R. we concluded that there would be little or no precipitation over CHILL domain for ER-2 sample even at arrival so science value of overall mission decreased significantly. Soil moisture mission over SGP domain would have been only a diversion for a shorter precip sampling time over CO.
With the scrub the aircraft is fueled for a long mission at its next launch. That next mission will be the topic of discussion today.
