Day 3: ASR Science Team Meeting Pre-Campaign Forecasting

Some light precipitation clipped the NE part of the state this morning. This will continue to move out as the upper-level ridge progresses eastward over the region. This will lead to some warming and clearing over the next couple days, before the next system is forecasted to arrive later this weekend into Monday.

Forecast for Day 0: 

Some light rain this morning moved over the NE portion of the state with the weak upper-level wave. After this moves out the upper-level ridge will settle in over the region. Only expecting some high-level clouds the rest of the day.

Forecast for Day 1: 

Friday should be a mostly clear day as the upper ridge continues to progress eastward.

Day 2:

Forecast for Day 2: 

Saturday should remain mostly clear as well, although a few clouds developing late afternoon are possible.

Extended Outlook: 

A surface low pressure system will begin to develop Sunday over Colorado which will likely bring a cold front through our region sometime between late Sunday night into (more likely) Monday. Sunday will bring strong southerly winds and warming temps ahead of the front. As of now, the most likely chances for precipitation to occur will be Monday, according to the GFS.
