AMSR-E

NASA’s Global Imagery Browse Service (GIBS) is now able to serve up the entire history of the AMSR-E Brightness Temperature 89 GHZ product, provided by AMSR-E SIPS at the GHRC. The imagery in GIBS is in the production environment open to all end users, and is available through Worldview.

GHRC is continuing to submit DOI requests to ESDIS for its datasets.

GHRC continues to prepare for and support the upcoming GPM Ground Validation campaign, Integrated Precipitation and Hydrology EXperiment (IPHEX), by ingesting real time ancillary data for the IPHEX portal. The intensive observation period for IPHEX will begin April 28.

IPHEx

GHRC will be supporting the GPM Ground Validation mission Integrated Precipitation and Hydrology Experiment (IPHEx) which takes place in North Carolina during May and June 2014. GHRC has developed, tested and promoted code which ingests data and creates real-time browse images for the GOES -13 satellite and seven NEXRAD II stations. These images are staged in the IPHEx Portal for forecasting and other scientists’ use. GHRC is in the process of obtaining other requested ancillary datasets for the campaign.

GCPEx

GHRC published the guide for the GPM Ground Validation Dual Polarized C-Band Doppler Radar King City GCPEx dataset. This dataset has special RHI and sector scans of several dual polarization parameters created by the C-Band radar during the GPM Cold-season Precipitation Experiment (GCPEx) in Ontario, Canada. Additionally, specially configured CARE-centric composites were also generated. Standard WKR IRIS volume and PPI scans, along with corresponding standard PPI imagery, are also included. Data was collected from January 15, 2012 through March 3, 2012.
