The GHRC DAAC has published dataset revisions for two merged satellite products from the DISCOVER MEaSUREs project:

RSS Monthly 1-deg Merged Wind Climatology netCDF V7R01

RSS Monthly 1-deg Microwave Total Precipitable Water netCDF V7R01

These data sets contain one-degree grids of monthly means, a 20-year climatology file, and a trend file containing the cumulative global trend map on a one degree grid and the time-latitude plot.  They...

GCPEX logoGHRC DAAC published the GPM Ground Validation Mission Reports GCPEx dataset. This dataset consists of various reports filed by the scientists during the GPM Cold-season Precipitation Experiment (GCPEx) campaign, which took place from January 15 - February 29, 2012 in Ontario, Canada. Report categories include the Mission Scientist, Mission Manager, and Instrument Scientist reports, Weather Forecasts and Plans of Day. Many reports have additional information attached. GHRC DAAC published the GPM Ground Validation Two-Dimensional Video Disdrometer (2DVD) HyMeX dataset from the HYdrological cycle in Mediterranean EXperiment (HyMeX) which took place in Italy and France from September 30 to November 12, 2012. The 2DVD dataset provides data on raindrop size and precipitation drop size distribution and rain events. The data are in ASCII format. DOI:

NASAGHRC DAAC published the Hurricane and Severe Storm Sentinel (HS3) Flight Reports dataset. The HS3 Flight Reports dataset provides information about flights flown by the WB-57 and Global Hawk aircrafts during the Hurricane and Severe Storms Sentinel (HS3) campaign from 2012 to 2014. The HS3 Flight Reports include flight number, flight time (beginning and end), location of the flight (flight segments), flight purpose, and comments regarding the flight and mission. In addition, some reports include corresponding satellite imagery, maps of flight tracks...

The Global Hydrology Resource Center (GHRC) DAAC has published two additional datasets from the Hurricane and Severe Storm Sentinel (HS3) mission.

  • The HS3 Global Hawk Advanced Vertical Atmospheric Profiling System (AVAPS) Dropsonde System dataset provides data from the AVAPS dropsondes built by the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and used as the dropsonde system for the Global Hawk aircraft during the HS3 campaign. AVAPS dropsondes provide in-situ, high-vertical resolution measurements of atmospheric variables including pressure, temperature,...

On December 15, the AMSR-E SIPS at GHRC DAAC announced the availability of three near real-time AMSR2 Daily Sea Ice data sets via NASA’s Land Atmosphere Near real-time Capability for EOS (LANCE). These data sets are generated incrementally in near real-time, as data are acquired from the AMSR2 instrument on the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) GCOM-W1 satellite. LANCE AMSR2 GIBS Sea Ice imagery will be available in Worldview very soon.

You can access the data at GHRC's LANCE AMSR2...

GHRCDAAC published the GRIP Hurricane Imaging Radiometer (HIRAD) V1 dataset. This dataset contains brightness temperatures at 5 GHz and is an update to the earlier Version 0 GRIP HIRAD dataset. The data were collected during the Genesis and Rapid Intensification Processes (GRIP) experiment in 2010 for Hurricanes EARL and KARL. HIRAD is a hurricane imaging, single-pol passive C-band radiometer with both cross-track and along-track resolution that measures strong ocean surface winds through heavy rain from an aircraft or space-based platform. Its swath width is approximately 60 degrees in either direction.
